Who We Are: A Mission Statement

You may have noticed over the last few issues that there is a different name in the masthead of our newsletter—yourLDSneighborhood.com. This new name came from listening to you, our subscribers.

In our minds, “exclusivelyLDS” has always represented our mission. We focused our articles and advertising around products and services that fit the LDS lifestyle. We felt that we demonstrated our commitment with the product that we designed, but as more people joined our virtual neighborhood, the more we had to explain what “exclusivelyLDS” meant to us. It (the name) became the obstacle instead of the message.

Since we have always been about bringing topical information, products, services, interviews, and gifts to our subscribers in a friendly manner, we decided to expand upon our original concept and open up exclusivelyLDS to a “neighborhood feel” where everyone who shares the same values, whether or not they belong to the LDS church, could come together and share.

And now, we would like to introduce you to
yourLDSneighborhood.com.

From the very inception of the newsletter, we always talked about a neighborhood feel where people could share ideas, products, and services to help each other in a safe environment. yourLDSneighborhood seemed like a perfect fit for what we already are. So, in the matter of an hour, it was decided: Our new name is “yourLDSneighborhood.com.”

We have received lots of positive feedback about our new name. We hope you like the change as well. To us, it is truly more descriptive of the vision with all of you in mind. Our goal is to be the online resource for LDS products, services, and lifestyle information. Everyone who espouses LDS values is invited to be a part of the neighborhood!

From our Personal Touch interviews (where we bring attention to everyday people who make a difference in their neighborhoods) to highlighted businesses with exciting new products to sell, our hope is these concepts and companies will inspire you to make a difference in your life and your neighborhood. Our purpose is to touch people and businesses, not just along the Wasatch front, but all over the English-speaking world.

In our newsletter and in our newsstands, we share helpful insights and practical information that you can use today—like the article about food allergies written by a mother who deals with severe allergies in her three children. And we work to bring you real people working in real situations from scouting to education. Then, we go one step further to promote new artists who may have difficulty finding a venue for their books, music, or art. And the fun part…we even give away worthwhile prizes just for subscribing and maintaining your subscription to our FREE newsletter. Where else could you have a chance to win $250.00 just for sharing an email with friends, or win a trip for two to China just for signing up and maintaining your subscription?

We are just getting started, too. In addition to all of the above, we are in the process of creating a foundation that will award college scholarships to single parents.

And finally, we have now become a shopping venue with a main street; 14 shopping “blocks” with storefronts, billboards, bus stops, and newsstands; and an “Outlet Stores” block—all in this life-like neighborhood called yourLDSneighborhood.com.

Oh, by the way…if you have a product or service to market, yourLDSneighborhood.com is the place for you! Advertising and product placement to the LDS market all over the English–speaking world is available for as little as $3 per day through the yourLDSneighborhood.com newsletter and website.

So when we say that we care about you and your family, we really do in many different ways. We are not help for your Sunday-school lesson, and we are not owned nor endorsed by the Church, although we try to reflect its values. We look forward to the day when you see yourLDSneighborhood.com as YOUR PLACE…the one that brightens your day, helps to strengthen your family by sharing insights on real issues, and—some days—just makes you laugh.

Welcome to the neighborhood! We’re glad you’re here!
