As people, we sometimes find ourselves afraid of change. We don’t want it, don’t welcome it, we avoid it at all costs. However, at other times, we are ready for a change, or at least we want to make a change in our surroundings in particular, or our lives in general. I guess we can accept it as long as it's on our own terms.
Russ Beck, a friend and contributor, is a licensed professional counselor with a Master's degree from the University of Wyoming, who has been involved in the mental health field and does family counseling, finds time to keep a blog going, “On the Couch… by Russ Beck”. In this particular article “Musings on Change”, he mentions a personal experience early in his life that taught him that we need to ‘transition’ to be able to accept change.
And then there are the changes that we can make to our surroundings. They can be good and welcomed, or not. This article "Greening our lifestyle" from the website FindingBonggamom, focuses on small and easy changes we can make to reduce our carbon footprint. What is that, you say? Well, let me give you a definition: “The total amount of greenhouse gases produced to directly and indirectly support human activities, usually expressed in equivalent tons of carbon dioxide (CO2).” (From timeforchange.org)
