Good-bye Summer

Welcome to the Neighborhood News

We have a story from Cindy Beck that will tickle your funny bone. Cindy writes at ‘Write Up my Alley,’ and this story is called “At the Car Wash.” You have to read it to figure out what might be wrong at the car wash. The sad thing about it is that we’ll have to wait until next time to see how it ends. You see, Cindy decided to make it into two parts. Cindy’s works have appeared in the Ensign magazine, and in several national anthologies.

Have you been busy working in your garden, taking care of your vegetables, weeding like a mad woman? (I have). If your answer is yes, then you may have some extra veggies and you are in need of ideas on what to do with them. Enter ‘Trainer Momma,’ a fitness and nutrition site for women, mothers and their families, where you can find effective workouts and terrific food. Its sole contributor is Mandi, who wrote “Corn on Cob and Sweet Potato Salad.” It’s a good recipe, and the pictures are terrific.

This service project lesson centers on the importance of giving and serving one another.
